Outreach Update – April to May 2026
Hello everyone, It’s been a great couple of months across our church and community, with lots of creativity, collaboration, and celebration. Here’s a little glimpse into what’s been happening recently.
April began with the wonderful success of the Great Bitterne Bake Off. It was such a joyful event, full of laughter, and some truly impressive bakes! It was lovely to see so many churches involved, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive – many people are already hoping it will return next year! A massive thank you again to everyone involved.
We also enjoyed a fantastic Salvation Army Band Concert, which brought a great crowd into the church. Thank you to everyone who helped make the event run smoothly – from parking arrangements to refreshments.
Alongside events, there’s been lots happening behind the scenes. The website continues to grow, with updates to our all our key pages as well as adding “Life events” pages. I’ve also been keeping social media active with posts and videos for all our events as well as Christian Aid Week, Earth Day, upcoming services, and our Away Day – which was a real highlight to share.
I’ve also been supporting the inclusive worship team, preparing for future services and exploring funding options for mixed‑ability groups. I also met with Sholing Music Man Project to gather ideas for a mixed‑ability activities. It’s exciting to see how this could grow into something really meaningful for our community.
And of course, Outlook continues to keep me busy – gathering stories, adding dates, and celebrating all the life happening in our church family.
Thank you, as always, for your encouragement, kindness, and partnership. It’s a joy to serve this community and to see how much we can achieve together.
With appreciation, Nikki
