Singing Mamas at Bitterne URC

Fridays, 10:00–11:00am
Followed by 30 minutes of tea, cake, and chat

Singing Mamas at Bitterne URC is a warm, welcoming space where mums come first. We sing for your wellbeing — not for performance, not for perfection, and definitely not just nursery rhymes. Children are welcome to play freely while mums enjoy a moment to breathe, connect, and feel uplifted.

Led by Penny Moore, a trained Singing Mamas facilitator, our sessions blend simple harmonies, gentle rhythms, and songs from around the world. No experience is needed — just your voice and a willingness to join in.

What to Expect

  • 10:00–11:00am singing session — grounding, joyful, and designed to support maternal wellbeing.

  • 30 minutes afterwards for chatting, tea, and homemade cakes.

  • A calm, non‑overstimulating environment — many mums tell us they prefer this to busy toddler groups or sensory play.

  • A focus on mum — your voice, your breath, your moment of joy.

  • A free taster session for all new mums and children.

Children Are Welcome

Life with little ones is unpredictable. That’s why:

  • Babies, toddlers, and children 5 and under are welcome.

  • Older siblings can come too if childcare is tricky or school terms don’t line up.

  • Toys are available, and children can listen, play, or wander — no pressure, no fuss.

  • The session is designed so mums can still enjoy singing even with little ones around.

Why Mums Love Singing Mamas

Many mums tell us:

  • They’re tired of singing the same nursery rhymes.

  • They want something that fills their cup.

  • They appreciate a group that isn’t loud, chaotic, or overstimulating.

  • They love learning longer songs over time and feeling part of a supportive community.

Singing Mamas is a gentle, grounding alternative — a place to feel held, heard, and connected.
