The Bitterne URC Women’s Group is a warm, welcoming space for women of all ages to come together, try new things, enjoy good company, and explore a wide range of activities. Whether you love crafts, enjoy learning something new, or simply want a friendly group to belong to, you’ll find a lovely community here.
What We Get Up To

The group enjoys a wonderfully varied programme throughout the year. Recently, they have done:
- Craft sessions — from decorations for the Christmas Tree Festival to creative seasonal projects.
- Guest speakers — including inspiring talks such as a recent visit from Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
- Line dancing — a fun, light‑hearted session that got everyone moving.
- Chime bells — learning how to work together to perform simple pieces as a group.
- Outings — such as a beautiful trip to Netley Country Park to see the bluebells in bloom, followed by a tasty lunch.
And there’s plenty more planned, with new ideas always welcome.
The Women’s Group is friendly, relaxed, and open to all. You don’t need any particular skills — just come along and enjoy the company. It’s a lovely way to connect with others, try something different, and be part of a supportive community.
