Mixed‑Ability Groups In collaboration with WAVE for Change

We’re excited to be partnering with WAVE for Change as we begin developing two new mixed‑ability groups here at Bitterne URC. WAVE’s vision is simple: “Where All Valued Equally.” Together, we’re creating spaces where people of all abilities can connect, belong, and take part in activities that are fun, creative, and welcoming.

We’re still in the early stages of planning regular sessions, but we’re launching with two special taster events — and you’re warmly invited.

Mixed‑Ability Social Group

A relaxed, friendly space for people of all abilities to enjoy simple drama activities, games, chatting, and (of course) cake. A chance to build friendships, have fun, and feel part of a supportive community.

Taster Event: Saturday 1st August, 2-4pm A fun, informal session to try out activities and meet others who might like to join the group.

Mixed‑Ability Worship Group

A gentle, interactive worship gathering where everyone can take part. We explore faith through creative activities, drama, music, and shared reflection, with plenty of time to connect with others.

Taster Event: Tuesday 8th September, 2-3:30pm A welcoming introduction to what inclusive, creative worship can look like.

These taster sessions will help shape what our regular groups become. We’d love to hear from anyone interested in joining, volunteering, or simply finding out more as we build these new communities together.
