A small update from Anthony.
I would like to report back after a productive meeting regarding my Uganda work.
I am keen to start a scheme to sponsor a school in Uganda. What this would entail is helping to fund the necessary materials for the schoolchildren, such as books, pens, desks, chalks, uniforms, shoes for walking to school, and food for school dinners.
I am very enthused to talk more with the Congregation about this, about any feedback, ideas, and possible support.
I am also willing to organise a Church trip out to Uganda in the summer of next year, either in the latter half of July or in August, for 2 weeks (this is so it won’t clash with the school term/ Brigade Session). I am aware there is interest, both within our Church and among others in the local community, that wish to visit Uganda.
A possible itinerary for this trip could involve spending one day each with the Leaders I work with over there, as well as time to see the source of the Nile (which is near to where I work), as well as an excursion to a National Park for a few days (most probably Murchison Falls), and potentially a visit to the Equator if possible.
Thankfully, there are direct flights to Uganda from Gatwick with Uganda Airlines, so getting to and from there will not be a problem. The place where I work is about 3 hours from Entebbe Airport.
Again, I am very happy to talk more with anyone who has thoughts or feedback.
