2nd May – Bitterne URC Away Day

What a lovely day we had at our Bitterne URC Away Day. From the moment we arrived at Petersfield URC, there was a real sense of warmth, laughter and togetherness – helped along by the sunshine too.
We began with a mix of thoughtful and delightfully silly questions that helped us get to know one another better, bringing both laughter and genuine connection. Ruth W then led an inspiring Bible session, helping us reflect on who we are as a church family and renewing our sense of purpose as we serve the wider Bitterne community.
Jill treated us to a delicious, cooked lunch, with plenty of homemade cake to enjoy throughout the day.
The afternoon brought creativity, rest and fun, with indoor skittles, candle decorating, canvas printing, stencil art, and two lovely workshops from our own congregation – Ian’s rug-making and Jan’s napkin-folding. There really was something for everyone.
It was a day full of fellowship, laughter, learning and joy. We came home feeling refreshed, re-energised and grateful. A huge thank you to Chris for driving the minibus, and to Petersfield URC and Ruth for such a warm welcome.
