December 2024/January 2025 Message from an Elder

Dear Friends,

Its ‘A Wonderful Time of the Year’ or so the song goes.  It’s the time of year we remember our Lord sent Jesus to live on earth and celebrate this wonderful event.

As I write this letter I am surprised at how many homes have already decorated ready for Christmas.  I know the shops have been preparing for months but perhaps they think it’s a wonderful time of the year that should be prolonged.

We as Christians should be celebrating the wonderful news of our Lord every day of the year.  Jesus gives us assurance of eternal life and forgives our sins.

We must remember that there are many people in this world who will not be having a good time at Christmas.  There are people in this country who cannot give their children presents and we are helping by donating gifts and toys to help these families.  There are countries who are at war and people have been displaced and have lost their homes.  We know these people will not think of this time of year as a wonderful time.  We pray for these people and hope that things will get better soon and if we can help in any way we must do so.

May I take this opportunity to wishing you all a happy Christmas and New Year and a wonderful time of the year.
