Throughout 2026, we invite you to join us for a special programme of events marking this milestone year. Whether you’ve been part of our story for years or are discovering us for the first time, there’s something here for everyone.

Christian Musicals Sing-Along
Sunday 1st March — 2:00 PM (2 hours, with an interval)
Free event — donations welcome. Tea and cake provided.
Revisit the Christian musicals that filled our church with music from 1977–2002. Sing along with live piano and enjoy video glimpses of the original productions.
All are warmly welcome — long‑standing members, new faces, and anyone who loves a musical moment.

Reunion Morning & Lunch
Sunday 22nd March — 10:30 AM
Join us for a special 40th Anniversary reunion at Bitterne URC — a morning to reconnect, remember, and celebrate our church family. Welcoming past members, friends, and anyone connected with our church family over the years.
Gather at 10:30 AM, with a roast lunch at 12:30 PM (dietary alternatives available).

Solent Fellowship Band of the Salvation Army — Concert

An uplifting evening of brass music from this renowned local ensemble.

Christian Aid Quiz Night

Bring a team or join one on the night. A fun evening supporting the vital work of Christian Aid.

Imerys Singers (Cornwall) — Concert
Saturday 27th June — 7:30 PM
Beautiful choral music from this celebrated Cornish choir.

Summer Fair on the Patio
Saturday 18th July — 10:00 AM–1:00 PM
Stalls, games, refreshments, crafts, and activities for all ages. A lively summer highlight in Bitterne.

Please note that the previously advertised August lunch has been withdrawn from our public events.
A private gathering for Southern Fellowship churches will take place instead.

Saxophony — Concert
Saturday 26th September — 7:30 PM
A dynamic saxophone ensemble bringing a rich mix of classical, jazz, and contemporary music.

Jigsaw Puzzle Festival
Tuesday 27th – Saturday 31st October
Hundreds of completed puzzles on display and for sale, plus refreshments and a quiet space to browse. A much‑loved Bitterne URC tradition.

Barn Dance
Friday 20th November — 7:00 PM
A lively evening of music, dancing, and laughter. All welcome — no experience needed.

Christmas Tree Festival
A joyful celebration of creativity and community as local groups, schools, and organisations decorate trees throughout the church. A festive favourite to close our anniversary year.
